The Campaign for Drawing's annual Big Draw is back for the entire month of October and the V&A are kicking things off this Sunday. The one and only Quentin Blake will be there along with designers and other illustrators to demonstrate techniques and inspire kids to draw. Even Mister Maker is coming! We ❤ this drawing book by Quentin Blake.

The Barbican have recently reopened not one, but two 'forgotten' cinemas and have launched the Framed Film Club for young cinephiles. The film edit is varied; from cute, relatively unknown shorts such as this weekends Capelito omnibus to mainstream cinema. Workshop precedes film. BTW, the Barbican Foodhall is great (both looks and snacks).

One year has passed since the shocking London riots. This production was created from hundreds of interviews with children to gauge their take on the events and explores peer pressure, friendship and what it means to be growing up in Britain today. An inspiring production for older kids. On until October 27th.

We adore Debi Gliori's book No Matter What and her sweet illustration style. She shall be visiting Watermark Books in the morning and the excellent Discover Children's Story Centre in the afternoon for reading and signing of her newest title What's the Time Mr.Wolf? 

A very creative and bizarre circus of sorts with the oddest little creatures one is bound to encounter in Greenwich, or anywhere for that matter. It's grown-up puppetry at it's very best - clever, funny and definitely original, Go and be wooed by these fantastic characters.

ZooNation have returned to London with this amazingly high energy production filled with electrifying dance - bringing hip-hop off the streets and twisting it into modern musical theatre. It's a great show for kids and will be much enjoyed by anyone who loves live theatre - even those wary of hip-hop.

Author Emma Thompson will be popping in for tea and to read from her new series of very girly princess books. The illustrations are lovely and the stories will appeal to little girls who love the Felicity Wishes books (and pink).

If you have never walked through this stunning market, take the opportunity this weekend to admire the film-set beautiful architecture while having a fun day out. The Olympics mascots will be in attendance with an Olympic torch, mini Olympics games, face painting, a fire engine and police cars.

Pinhole cameras are very much an ancient technology in our digital world, this is a fun niche to experiment with and take kids back to the beginning of the art of photography. A chance to make a camera from scratch and develop your images. Get snapping.

This is one sparkly event. London's 30+ Pearly families gather together in their stunning button-covered suits for a special day of parades, festivities and family fun to fundraise for the Whitechapel Mission. Donkey's, Marching Bands, Mayors, Maypole dancers and many more shall be in attendance.
